Frustrating start

The Miami Heat have dropped their fourth straight game versus the Dallas Mavericks, 113-109, on Monday night, October 27th 2026. Despite the Heat having a lead for half the game, they struggled to put the Mavericks away as the Mavericks would end up pulling away later in the game.

Changes need to be made.

Miami is 0-4 is the fifth time in franchise history that the Heat have failed to win his first three games and their worst start to a season since the 2007-08 season where they finished the season 15-67. Miami’s offensive struggles have been prevalent this entire four-game stretch; despite Giannis Antetokounmpo averaging 28.5 points per game in shooting above 50% everywhere else it’s been a disaster. The costar to Giannis, Bam Adebayo, has struggled this season averaging 11.8 points per game, having an entire 8.3 points drop off since last season. Versus the Dallas Mavericks, he finished with 8 points, his second single-digit points performance, the other one being 4 points versus the Pistons on October 23; he’s having a very underwhelming start to the season. As on the court, the team is lacking coordination; defensively, they have struggled. Opponents versus the Heat have averaged 121 points per game, which is at the top of the league. If the Heat don’t want to have a disappointing season, they’re going to have to turn it around and figure things out really soon as they are not playing winning basketball. Their next game is against the Atlanta Hawks on the road on Thursday, October 28 at 7 PM.
