Tier 1: The Heavyweights (1–5)
1. Minnesota Vikings
- Week 7 Result: W, 16–10 vs. Indianapolis Colts
- Analysis & Stats: Moving up to the top spot, the undefeated Vikings improved to 6–0 by grinding out a defensive victory over Indianapolis, relying on clutch red-zone stops to stay perfect.
2. San Francisco 49ers
- Week 7 Result: L, 20–29 at Atlanta Falcons
- Analysis & Stats: Slipping to No. 2, the 49ers suffered their first loss of the season in Atlanta as the Falcons' offense put up 29 points to pull off the upset, starting to show how injuries are affecting this team; however, there is one trade away from being back to being arguably the most dominant team in the league, potentially Garrett Wilson?
3. Buffalo Bills
- Week 7 Result: Bye Week
- Analysis & Stats: After a restful bye week, the Bills move up two spots and sit comfortably at No. 3 in the AFC.
4. Kansas City Chiefs
- Week 7 Result: L, 3–20 at Seattle Seahawks
- Analysis & Stats: Dropping two spots after a tough road loss in Seattle, where the Seahawks' elite defense held the Chiefs' offense to just a single field goal. There is a lot of work to be done offensively with this team, and they just had a really bad game. Things could be fixed however, Mahomes needs a receiver outside of Travis Kelce. Kenneth Walker was not able to capitalize on a potential revenge game being boxed only having 36 rushing yards.
5. Chicago Bears
- Week 7 Result: W, 30–24 vs. New England Patriots (Thursday Night)
- Analysis & Stats: Vaulting into the top 5, the Bears secured a gritty Thursday night home win behind a steady rushing attack and timely defensive takeaways. this team looks very dangerous. Even after the dominant win versus the Falcons last week, it’s further evidence this week that they’re a true contender in the NFC.
Tier 2: The Playoff Contenders (6–12)
6. Seattle Seahawks
- Week 7 Result: W, 20–3 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
- Analysis & Stats: Making a big three-spot jump, Seattle dominated the reigning heavyweights on Sunday Night Football, locking down Patrick Mahomes and company to just 3 points, Seattle was elite defensively and held the Chiefs too 213 yards.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars
- Week 7 Result: Bye Week
- Analysis & Stats: Holding strong at No. 7 during their mid-season bye week.
8. Denver Broncos
- Week 7 Result: W, 30–16 at Arizona Cardinals
- Analysis & Stats: Slipping five spots despite a blowout road win, the Broncos rolled over Arizona behind an efficient offensive attack. Bo Nix was effective in this game with a 62-yard rushing touchdown and throwing for for 222 yards, his most since Week 2 versus Jacksonville.
9. New England Patriots
- Week 7 Result: L, 24–30 at Chicago Bears (Thursday Night)
- Analysis & Stats: Fought hard on a short week in Chicago, but fell just short in a high-scoring Thursday night matchup. Drake maye played a good game outside of one bad interception throwing for 321 yards and 2 touchdowns.
10. Cincinnati Bengals
- Week 7 Result: W, 35–13 at Baltimore Ravens
- Analysis & Stats: Vaulting upward, Joe Burrow and the Bengals went on the road and blew out division rival Baltimore by 22 points. Despite being down 13-0, Cincinnati’s defense in the second half and overall adjustments with the main reason why they won this game.
11. Detroit Lions
- Week 7 Result: W, 20–17 vs. Green Bay Packers
- Analysis & Stats: Snagged a tight 3-point divisional win over Green Bay at Ford Field, jumping three spots on the board. Detroit offense was on fire with Amon Ra St. Brown having 153 yards, Jahmyr Gibbs having 143 yards and Jameson Williams having two touchdowns with 91 yards in total Detroit offense finished with 422 yards on the day.
12. Pittsburgh Steelers
- Week 7 Result: W, 16–10 vs. New Orleans Saints (International - Paris)
- Analysis & Stats: Picked up a gritty defensive win across the Atlantic in Paris, holding off the Saints to climb to 5–2.
Tier 3: The Cusp of Contention & Big Risers (13–18)
13. Atlanta Falcons
- Week 7 Result: W, 29–20 vs. San Francisco 49ers
- Analysis & Stats: The statement win of the week! Atlanta climbed four spots by handing the 49ers their first defeat of the year behind a stellar home performance. Great win from start to finish. It shows that the Falcons could beat almost any team in the National Football League, but can also lose to any team in the National Football League as well.
14. Green Bay Packers
- Week 7 Result: L, 17–20 at Detroit Lions
- Analysis & Stats: Despite a narrow 3-point road loss in Detroit, the Packers surged six spots on the board following competitive metrics and division context.
15. Baltimore Ravens
- Week 7 Result: L, 13–35 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
- Analysis & Stats: Slumped nine spots after suffering a heavy 22-point home loss to division rival Cincinnati. This was alongside the loss to Cleveland last week shows how much Lamar‘s injury is affecting this team and that hopefully she’s able to be healthy next week.
16. Los Angeles Rams
- Week 7 Result: W, 35–21 at Las Vegas Raiders
- Analysis & Stats: Bounced up three spots after lighting up the scoreboard for 35 points in a comfortable road win against the Raiders. A good get right game win with a good offensive showing.
17. Cleveland Browns
- Week 7 Result: W, 27–24 at Tennessee Titans
- Analysis & Stats: Slipped down a spot despite winning a tight 3-point battle on the road against Tennessee to improve to 5–2.
18. Carolina Panthers
- Week 7 Result: L, 13–43 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Analysis & Stats: Dropped six spots after a tough home blowout loss to division rival Tampa Bay. This loss mainly shows for the Panthers. They’re not what most people thought they were in terms of being on the cusp of contenders, as they still have some room to grow in the season. Now, I’m not saying it’s all over for Bryce Young and co because this was honestly Bryce’s first bad game since the Cleveland game. However, if the team can bounce back in the next upcoming weeks, they’ll be able to be in that cusp of contenders position
19. New York Giants
- Week 7 Result: W, 27–21 at Houston Texans (OT)
- Analysis & Stats: Vaulted four spots upward after grinding out an impressive overtime road victory in Houston. JJ McCarthy has shown. He could be a good quarterback in this league, as I believe that his trade fr the Giants has potentially saved his career, and if he keeps this up, you potentially have a starting job elsewhere in the NFL as for the rest of the team, New York could win the NFC East because of the way the division is big these past few weeks; it could be for the rest of the season.
Tier 4: Seeking Stability (19–25)
20. Dallas Cowboys
- Week 7 Result: W, 38–21 at Philadelphia Eagles (Monday Night)
- Analysis & Stats: Exploded for 38 points on Monday Night Football to dominate their division rivals in Philadelphia, climbing up the board.
21. Las Vegas Raiders
- Week 7 Result: L, 21–35 vs. Los Angeles Rams
- Analysis & Stats: Slid six spots after surrendering 35 points at home to the Rams.
22. Houston Texans
- Week 7 Result: L, 21–27 vs. New York Giants (OT)
- Analysis & Stats: Dropped four spots following a tough overtime home loss to the Giants. This was a game that they had to win, and you’re now in a deeper hole and you already are considering now you’re 2-5. There’s a lot of things that need to happen if Houston wants to even get back to the playoffs let alone of winning record in the defense has to improve. This is a far cry from last year’s defensive unit, and it’s a shame.
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Week 7 Result: W, 43–13 at Carolina Panthers
- Analysis & Stats: Vaulted a massive seven spots after putting up 43 points in a dominant road statement over Carolina. this is the type of win that turns around your season, and the Buccaneers' rushing attack had 258 rushing yards ag the Panthers. They put out a big statement, not only for the division but potentially the NFC.
24. New Orleans Saints
- Week 7 Result: L, 10–16 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (Paris)
- Analysis & Stats: Slipped two spots after a defensive low-scoring battle against Pittsburgh in France. It’s been a very rough year for the Saints after a promising start, especially with the win against the Ravens in week two on the road, but it’s just been very frustrating since our changes will likely be made during this off-season.
25. Washington Commanders
- Week 7 Result: Bye Week
- Analysis & Stats: Climbed two spots while resting up on their bye week.
Tier 5: Searching for Answers (26–32)
26. Philadelphia Eagles
- Week 7 Result: L, 21–38 vs. Dallas Cowboys (Monday Night)
- Analysis & Stats: Bumped up two spots on the board despite a tough Monday night home loss to Dallas.
27. Arizona Cardinals
- Week 7 Result: L, 16–30 vs. Denver Broncos
- Analysis & Stats: Slid down after allowing 30 points at home to a tough Denver defense. Rough defensive performance in the second half especially giving up that 62 yard rushing touchdown to Bo Nix. A question that might need to be asked is: Is Jacoby really gonna be the starting quarterback for the rest of the season while he has done a somewhat serviceable job, the direction at quarterback for the Cardinals has not been stable since Kyler Murray, if things need to improve quickly or this situation could get really ugly quick.
28. New York Jets
- Week 7 Result: L, 25–28 vs. Miami Dolphins
- Analysis & Stats: Dropped three spots following a tight 3-point divisional home loss to Miami. this was a game that the Jets should’ve had and it was a game versus the one of the only win less teams in the NFL they should’ve won this game, but they just did not play good at all
29. Miami Dolphins
- Week 7 Result: W, 28–25 at New York Jets
- Analysis & Stats: Jumped three spots after securing a hard-fought 3-point road victory against the Jets in East Rutherford. Excellent win for the Dolphins for a team that’s undergoing some culture changes, especially with new head coach Jeff Hafley this team has fought hard every week and has been a scrappy football team and show some early promise especially with the connection between Malik Willis and Caleb Douglas. They face a tough test versus the Patriots this week
30. Tennessee Titans
- Week 7 Result: L, 24–27 vs. Cleveland Browns
- Analysis & Stats: Slipped down after falling just short in a close 3-point battle against Cleveland.
31. Indianapolis Colts
- Week 7 Result: L, 10–16 at Minnesota Vikings
- Analysis & Stats: Dropped seven spots after keeping it close but ultimately falling short against the undefeated Vikings on the road. With the recent trades of Quention Nelson and Deforest Buckner undeniably it’s a fire sale likely there will be a head coaching change in the off-season as the general manager was fired so the coaches are likely going with him as well.
32. Los Angeles Chargers
- Week 7 Result: Bye Week
- Analysis & Stats: Anchors the bottom of the board at No. 32 while taking time off during their bye week.
